The Jiass: Network Rack is built around a Tecmojo 16U 4 Post Open Frame Rack. The front of the rack only has 14U of rack space due to the design and structure of the rack which has a 1U support brace at the top of the rack, and another 1U support brace at the bottom of the rack. The rear of the rack has 12.5U of rack space owing to a larger support braces at the top and bottom of the rack.
This is the secondary network rack at Baarool Lab, and like the Twoaie: Network Rack — the primary network rack — it is structured around the Hierarchical (Tiered) Topology. The rack has dedicated hardware networking equipment, and a Virtualisation Cluster configured for Software Defined Networking (SDN). The underlying physical hardware remains, but the Virtualisation is a platform for me to experiment with software to build or layer virtual networks (VNs) on top of the physical network.
NOTE: I have written down the RU (Rack Unit) position of a node or fixed asset in the rack – noting the height in rack units – starting from the bottom of the rack and counting upwards.
Top Shelf (Enneyder: Antenna Stand)
On top of the network rack sits the Enneyder: Antenna Stand with a "Poynting MIMO-4-4-V2 Antenna" that connects to the Dorrys: Gateway Node in RU 14.
