The Bradda: 8U network rack houses my production network equipment in the computer lab. This network rack lets the workstations in the lab to communicate and share resources – including the network attached storage (NAS) nodes within the Meayll: 8U data rack inside the server room, as well as access the internet.
I am currently upgrading the network equipment within this rack from NETGEAR to Teltonika and MikroTik equipment.
The NETGEAR Nighthawk M1 (MR1100) has already been replaced with a Teltonika TRB501. I am looking to replace the NETGEAR (GS116UK) Unmanaged 16-Port Network Switch, and NETGEAR Orbi RBE771 Router (computer lab), and RBE770 Satellite (server room) with a couple of MikroTik CRS418-8P-8G-2S+RM. One in the computer lab, and the other in the server room. I will connect these together with network bridges.
NOTE: I have written down the RU (Rack Unit) position of a node or fixed asset in the rack – noting the height in rack units – starting from the bottom of the rack and counting upwards.
