The Orca screen reader is an essential part of my assistive technology stack that I use at Baarool Lab to build, manage, and secure the IT infrastructure. It is a free, open source, flexible, and extensible screen reader that provides access to the graphical desktop via user-customisable combinations of speech and/or braille.
Orca works with applications and toolkits that support the AT-SPI (ssistive Technology Service Provider Interface), which is the primary assistive technology infrastructure for free and open desktops.
